About This Program
Basic Eligibility
To be considered, you'll generally need to meet all of the following. These are checked in the first step of the application:
- Age 21–39
- U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident
- Height 173 cm (5'8") or taller
- BMI between 19 and 30
- No tobacco or nicotine use in the past 12 months
- No new tattoos or piercings in the past 12 months
- No IV drug use in the past 5 years
- No history of drug abuse or alcoholism
- No major criminal conviction or current legal dispute
- No severe genetic disease in your immediate family
- Able to commit to our program's 6–12 month timeline (driven by the FDA-required quarantine and retest), including one in-person visit to our California clinic
- Willing to complete a medical exam, semen analysis, and genetic carrier screening
What the Process Involves
- Our program timeline runs about 6–12 months overall — driven mainly by the FDA-required 6-month sample quarantine and retest — but you'll only need to visit our California clinic in person once for your collection visit
- Initial screening: health history, reproductive/sexual health questionnaire, and semen analysis
- Risk-based infectious-disease screening required by FDA regulation (21 CFR Part 1271) — HIV, Hepatitis B/C, syphilis, and other markers — repeated at intervals
- Genetic carrier screening, a psychological evaluation, drug toxicology screening, and a background check — required by our program
- Collection arrangements during your California visit — including timing and any preparation instructions — are set by the participating clinic for the applicable program
- Each sample is quarantined for about 6 months per FDA regulation, and you are retested before it can be released for use
- The 6–12 month figure reflects the FDA quarantine and retest timeline, not repeat travel — your time in California is brief
Collection Details
You'll only need to travel to our California clinic once to complete your collection visit — the specific clinic is confirmed during your initial consultation. Your exact travel dates, visit logistics, and your final compensation figure within the US$10,000–US$100,000 range are confirmed with you individually before you commit to anything. If you'd like these specifics before applying, request a consultation and a coordinator will walk you through them.
Medical Risks
Sperm donation involves a structured medical and psychological screening process and repeated testing over the program's 6–12 month timeline. While the collection procedure itself is low-risk, screening may surface findings that affect your eligibility, and there is no guarantee of approval or of being matched with intended parents. We encourage you to ask questions and seek independent medical or legal advice before starting.
Compensation
Compensation for the sperm donor program ranges from US$10,000 to US$100,000. Participation requires one visit to a California clinic. Your specific compensation and payment terms will be set out in the applicable written agreement. Applying does not guarantee acceptance or the maximum compensation.
Privacy & Future Identifiability
We treat your information as confidential, limiting access to our medical team and, at the matching stage and with your consent, selected intended parents. That said, we cannot promise permanent anonymity: consumer DNA testing services and public genealogy databases mean donor-conceived people may be able to identify biological relatives later in life, regardless of the identity preference you select on your application. Please consider this carefully before applying.
Voluntary Participation
Participation is entirely voluntary. You may withdraw at any stage, and completing this application does not commit you to anything or guarantee medical approval.
